New Christian
First of all congratulations! You have just made the most important decision you can ever make. When we give our lives to Jesus Christ (it’s like giving him the car keys of our lives, and saying, ‘You drive!’), we are changed from the inside out. Even if we don’t feel any different, we are. If we are ‘in Christ’, we are a new creation. God has an awesome future for you!

But what now? What do I do? Do I have to give up stuff? How can I change?

All these and many more questions are answered in our two booklets designed especially for you! The are called So What Happened? and So What Next? [more] We’d love to send you a copy of So What Happened? absolutely free of charge. Just email us with your mailing address, and we’ll mail it to you by return. When you’ve read that, let us know, and we’ll mail you a copy of So What Next?, also free!

Meanwhile, can we make some suggestions to help?

1)  You will need Christian friends - find a friendly church near you, where they believe that the Bible is true, that Jesus is the only Lord of heaven and earth (there are some that don’t!), and who love Him!  Don’t worry too much about the type of services they have. What’s important is to find people who like to talk about Jesus. A good church will also be running a course for new Christians, and we encourage you to sign up right away!

2)  You will need Spiritual food! - buy a Bible, if possible in a modern translation, which makes it easier to understand. Don’t start at the beginning! Start with the ‘book’ called Mark. Then read ‘Acts of the Apostles’ (sometimes just called ‘Acts’). Then read the ‘Gospel of John’. Then read the rest of the New Testament (the second part of the Bible). You don’t have to read it in book order! Pick and mix. Read as much as you can!

3)  You will need to get to know your new friend and Lord, Jesus - just take time to talk to him, as you would a friend. Ask questions. If you or others you know have needs, ask him to help with them. You probably won’t hear booming voices. But you will ‘hear’ promptings in your heart. And ‘co-incidences’ WILL start to happen!

4)  You will need to be filled with the Holy Spirit - Jesus sent his Holy Spirit to guide, comfort and strengthen us to live the lives he has called us to live. We need him (The Holy Spirit is a person!) to live inside us. So ask him to come, and expect something to happen. If nothing does immediately, keep asking! He will come, and when he does you will know! And when he does, like a bonfire that you’ve lit the flames of the Spirit will take hold, and you’ll be away!

We pray that God will fill you more and more with his love and his Spirit, and that you will grow rapidly into your wonderful destiny. Jesus said, ‘I have come that you might have life, and have it abundantly.’
New Christian? We can help!
Not sure if you really are a Christian yet?
You can be, and you should be! Jesus wants you to KNOW! If you pray a simple prayer, you WILL become one. You will be ‘saved’, ‘born again’, and a ‘child of God’. Pray this prayer from your heart:
Dear Lord Jesus, I need you. Forgive me for all that I have done wrong. I want to live differently from now on. I believe that you came to take away my sin, and give me a new life. I yield my whole life to you now. Be my only Lord and Saviour. I trust you. I am now a Christian. I am a child of God. I will serve no other Lord, except Jesus. Now please fill me with your Holy Spirit! Amen!
