Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received, freely give. Matthew 10:8
I read (skimmed) Mr. Fergusson’s book, and was very challenged by it. Our church has recently been focusing on prayer, and God has been teaching me a lot. This book, reading it at the time I did, was a challenge from God I think to have more faith in praying for the sick.
After I read it, there were several people in my life who were sick, all at the same time! I felt God was calling me to pray for them. My baby niece, who had a long term ear infection and fever, my neighbor, whose daughter had been vomiting, my son fell and we were afraid his headache and vomiting meant he had a concussion, my Grandpa, who had been short of breath, has liver disease and we didn't know how far it was, a young man fighting anxiety and fear. I prayed for each one, getting more tired spiritually with each one.
However, God is strong when we are weak! My niece got over her ear infection and fever, my neighbor's little girl didn't vomit again, my son slept through the night and woke up feeling fine, my Grandpa's breathing got better and his liver disease was determined to be in only stage one ( I keep praying for that!), and the young man with anxiety and fear has come to church for 3 weeks in a row when he couldn't even leave his house for the prior 6 weeks! GOD is good!
