Preaching the good news and healing the sick
in New Zealand, Nepal and the world

December 2011 News
Awaiting my flight in Nepalgunj airport a European lady sat beside me. ‘I must introduce myself. I hear you used to work for Reinhard Bonnke.’ Then she began to tell me about a wonderful miracle the previous day. A paralysed woman had come for healing, and was crying.
‘I have noticed that people don’t get healed when they cry,’ she remarked. She had my attention at once, as I have noticed the same thing.
‘The Lord told me she had been prayed for before,’ she added, ‘and was afraid she wouldn’t be healed’. The fear was blocking her ability to receive. The paralysed lady admitted that was true.
‘I then handed my garland to her,’ my new friend continued, ‘explaining that she would receive a gift from me, why not from God?’ The woman began to understand, and slowly began to move, first her arm, then her leg. Then she stood and walked slowly until she was healed.
Landing at Kathmandu we headed to Pr Daniel’s church in the slums, where people came for ministry, including two in fear and a third paralysed! Thank you, Jesus, we now knew exactly what to do!
And that was not the only divine appointment…
I had been in touch by email with Mike and Pat Picone, missionary parents of one of my brother’s students. We had arranged to meet in Kathmandu, as ‘by chance’ they were there at the same time, and even in the same suburb on the same day! As they arrived at our hotel, a motorbike that happened to be passing stopped when the driver spotted them. They were friends! The motorcyclist was Michael Huff, the head of OM in Nepal, and we had a wonderful hour of fellowship. We long to see what fruit the Lord will bring out of it!
We felt very much ‘one in spirit’ with Mike and Pat, who work with the disabled in Nepal, and one of our team who also happened to turn up at that moment, had been looking for contacts who work with the disabled...! There were even more God-incidences, but you get the picture! Only God could have set all that up!
And finally, I caught up with an old friend in Singapore from Jakarta days, another divine appointment, as I went there to meet someone else!
On the second night at Surkhet, Kerry was preaching to a crowd of a thousand on a perfect afternoon. Over seventy had responded and prayed a salvation prayer. While volunteers were recording names, a young man sprang onto the platform. ‘I want to give my life to Jesus!’ So publicly over the sound system, with a thousand witnesses, he confessed his sins, and called on our Saviour to be his Lord.
The next morning at the pastors’ meeting, a young girl came with the same request! And then after we had prayed with the paralysed man at Pr Daniel’s church, I was told that both he and his wife wanted to give their lives to Jesus, and could we pray with them!
I call them ‘windfalls’! Four in three days. [WINDFALL: An unexpected blessing, usually financial. Ripe fruit that falls to the ground without needing to be picked.] All we had to do was be there and gather the harvest. Nepal is so ripe for the gospel! But harvest time does not last forever. We must work while it is yet day.
It will make a great Christmas gift for the young adult in your family! Buy now!

Overlooking the Meoni River boundary with India, this typical border town was teeming with trucks, noise, markets and dust. It’s a spiritual gateway, and the 60 who gathered (6 from needy Bihar, India) were hungry for the teaching. We reached the tiny church via a ten minute walk and a rickety footbridge. People were being healed from the first moment, and they really caught the vision, determined to hold Schools of Healing in their churches and towns. This is our dream! On the final day we preached in three different churches, and several came to Christ.
We also trained over 50 more to teach Schools of Healing in Kakadbhitta and Kathmandu. But perhaps the greatest potential for the Kingdom was the change of heart we saw among those who resisted us earlier. And where there is unity, the Lord commands a blessing! Thank you, Jesus!
